Does the arrival of content generation tools like ChatGPT have a significant impact on the field of SEO?
While we may not be at a revolution (yet), ChatGPT is definitely making waves. I haven't gone a single day or meeting since the launch of OpenAI's conversational solution without a similar question being asked. Yes, ChatGPT is having a major impact on the SEO field, but perhaps not in exactly the way you'd expect.

Among the topics that are often discussed is text generation. Hundreds of examples circulate about ChatGPT's ability to invent, to be creative like us. Ask it to compose a poem and you'll be even more moved than if Cyrano de Bergerac himself had written it. But there are many other facets of ChatGPT that can be used directly for SEO or to help with content creation, without letting the robot write freely. Suggesting content structures, composing summaries, or even helping with paraphrasing are avenues worth exploring. But we don't necessarily realize all the tasks an SEO performs during the day that deserve a little automation.

ChatGPT doesn't necessarily spell the end for web editors, but it certainly paves the way for weariness with many existing tools. Like all micro-tools that allow for the generation of regular expressions and the creation of large quantities of titles and meta descriptions.

In your opinion, is the use of these tools for writing SEO content relevant?
Of course! Any additional help is welcome. If we're thinking about files, guides, or articles, content generation tools may not yet be powerful enough to handle all the work. The need to comply with an editorial line or even verifying wording to avoid misinterpretations are all points that require a human perspective. This is especially true for content from regulated professions, which often falls within the spectrum of so-called "YMYL" content ( Your Money, Your Live ). However, all content that was already relatively automated can benefit from these generation tools. I'm thinking in particular of product catalog references or user manuals.
